Dynamic Tower

Architect designs building which rotates floor by floor for the Video:)
By Suzanne Fenton, Staff ReporterPublished: June 25, 2008, 14:55
New York: The world's first revolving, pre-fabricated tower is to be built in Dubai by Italian architect David Fisher with a development value of about $3 billion (Dh11 billion).
The 80-storey Dynamic Tower will be 420 metres tall and located on Shaikh Zayed Road.

"The tools used today in real estate are so primitive. From 1889, steel was used to construct the Eiffel tower and then reinforced concrete was used in 1905. We are still building similar to how the Egyptians built the Pyramids," Fisher told Gulf News before the launch in New York.
The area of the Dynamic Tower will be around 1.2 million square feet. Fisher said there would be a central core in the tower for lifts. There will even be lifts especially for cars, so it will be possible to drive to apartments.

The Dynamic Tower offers infinite design possibilities, as each floor rotates independently to create a building that constantly changes shape, resulting in a unique and ever evolving architectural structure. Between each rotating floor will be horizontal wind turbines so that the tower will be able to generate enough energy to power five other towers of similar size.
As the tower will be pre-fabricated with the parts being made in Italy, the amount of time spent on construction is greatly reduced.

"It will only take six days to complete one floor," said Fisher. In contrast, the average time taken to complete a floor of a traditional building is around six weeks.
Fisher estimated that it will only take around 20 months to complete the Dubai Dynamic Tower.
The second Dynamic Tower will be built in Moscow, with completion scheduled for 2010.
Fisher said the third Dynamic Tower will probably be in New York.Do you think constructing such a tower is viable? How do you see that such designs change the way buildings are constructed?

Zaferi kalbimize kazıdın

Milliyette cikan bir yaziyi aktariyorum:
İsviçre gazetesinin redaktörü Kunz, Fatih Terim’e açık mektup yazdı, “Şunu da itiraf etmeliyim ki; turnuvanın başında bir gün size karşı hoşgörü duyacağımı asla düşünmemiştim” ifadelerini kullandı.

Milli Takımımız ve Fatih Terim ile ilgili sert üslubu ile bilinen, tahrik edici yayınlarıyla dikkati çeken İsviçre’nin Blick gazetesi bile ay-yıldızlı ekibimizin yarı final başarısı karşısında havlu attı.
Gazetenin redaktörü Alain Kunz dün büyük boy Fatih Terim’in fotoğrafının üzerine, Milli Takımı kastederek “Çok özlenecekler” başlığını kullandı ve iki tam sayfaya yakın yazısında itiraflarda bulundu. Kunz’un açık mektubu şöyle:

“Sevgili Fatih Terim,

Oysa 9 oyuncun eksikti. 2,5 sağlam adamın oturuyordu kulübende. Sen ve oyuncuların savaştınız. 2005’teki gibi değildi bu kez. Tutkuyla ve sanki olağanüstü bir savaşçının ruhuyla...
Ve şimdi. 2010’a kadar kontratın olmasına rağmen ayrılmayı düşünüyorsun. Ama sen ve takımının yaptığı şey eşsizdi. Sen, bunu bizim kalbimize kazıdın. 2,5 yıl aradan sonra. Sen olmasan da harika bir takım bıraktın. En büyük saygılarımla. Alain Kunz”.

TURKISH DELIGHT OLEYYYYYYYYY

For more photos:
Turkey set up a meeting with Germany in the Euro 2008 semi-finals after beating Croatia on penalties after an extraordinary climax to the last-eight showdown in Vienna.

Rustu Recber saved Mladen Petric's spot-kick in the shoot-out, after Luka Modric and Ivan Rakitic had already missed, to send Turkey into the last four of the European Championship for the first time.

Old Place Hotel by Burj Dubai

Yesterday, with Mirdif Madams group, we have visited Old Palace hotel who is member of Sofi Hotel, Accor Group (French Hotel Company). As UAE is a new country, they are trying bring the old flair of the Dubai. The hotel is built like Old Place. Most of the new hotels designs like Old Places or reminding of old Dubai Houses like Wind Towers. Ottoman Palace 7 Star Hotel also will be opening later end of this year in Palm Jumeirah. Royal Mirage, Medinat Hotel all have the old flair of Old UAE.
.
We have started our morning breakfast in the hotel Lobby with the lady from the Hotel Spa and gave us small information about their facilities and the hotel. Later on, one of the Butler gave us a Hotel tour. At the end we all went to Spa and got small therapy of Message. I am not a massage frig or don't like being massage, oh men that was goooood. We had also 30%vouchers, I will definitely will use:) Especially Vincy Spa treatment that you lay on the Aqua machine while the rain drops on your back and you get massage.

Only problem is the location of the Hotel, when you get out from the Hotel Spa all relax and everything you have to use Sheikh Zayed road to get home and all the distressful, relax mood is suddenly will be gone:(
